Do not miss this unique opportunity to hear great vocal works of romantic tradition in an intimate house environment! Baritone Anton Belov and pianist Stanislav Serebriannikov perform Schumann's delicate and dramatic Dichterliebe (A Poet's Love) to the poetry of the great Heinrich Heine, followed by Franz Liszt's virtuosic Tre Sonetti di Petrarca (Three Sonnets by Petrarch).

These two song cycles are profoundly autobiographical. Dichterliebe was written in 1840, while Schumann was engaged to the great pianist and composer Clara Wieck, nine years his junior. Clara's father, Friedrich, was Schumann's piano teacher. He vehemently objected to the marriage, and Robert had to take him to court for defamation of character.
